Many people not familiar with cosmetic dentistry were surprised at the results of a recent nationwide poll by Harris Interactive commissioned by RealSelf.com.2,227 people were polled, and of those who were interested in cosmetic surgery, 52% were interested in teeth whitening, which was the highest percentage for any procedure. Tied for second with 29% were tummy tucks and liposuction, followed by hair removal at 25%. Botox, formerly thought to be the king of all things cosmetic, ranked at only 6%.
People can have a need for teeth whitening if they simply enjoy things like red wine, coffee, and juices. Even normal aging with great overall health can create tooth discoloration.

Any food that would stain a white cloth, will stain teeth ... but many do it easier than others, and some colours are more obvious than others. If you were to not eat food that stains, your diet would be very limited and boring. Instead make sure you pay particular attention to your oral hygiene at least twice a day, and make sure you floss once a day.
